The Reporting Bug
Jennifer found reporting an exciting extension of her writing. She reported
throughout middle and high school and eventually landed as the editor of her high school newspaper.
At the age of seventeen, Jennifer became a bylined columnist
at the local weekly paper, The Weekday. Her column focused on high school life and continued throughout
her senior year. She wrote as an contributing writer after leaving for college.
"Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How"
Her writing mentality found fertile ground in college
life at Eckerd College, FL. Jennifer earned a B.A. degree in Sociology in 1989.
Her primary career, as a Case Manager for people
with varying abilities and ages, provided great satisfaction and a penchant for finding solutions and helping others.
The Writing Stream
Her craving to write - never completely satisfied
by the day job - bloomed in other forms. Jennifer created newsletters for various organizations,
such as the North County Adult Day Care, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. and her son's cub scout dens, in Pasadena, FL.
As a freelance copywriter, Jennifer writes website content,
newsletters, flyers, and business letters for various clients. She edits and proofreads documents for online and print
media, including work by other writers.
Sharing The Love of Writing
Jennifer loves to help with groups of kids and volunteers with the cub
scouts and local schools. After three years as a volunteer leader, she wrote a Native American theme play and co-created
a cub scout graduation ceremony for thirty boys, aged seven through ten.
For the last three years, she also has taught writing and story basics
to Pinellas County elementary kids in fun, interactive games.
Jennifer's personal writing reflects her interests
in ending domestic violence, strengthening marriages, improving education and nurturing children.

Note from Jennifer:
To me, reading and writing rank high and on the same level
of air, food, and water on Maslow's pyramid. I don't consciously write or read ... I read and write just as I breathe,
eat, and drink.
In spite of that statment, I somehow had buried my writing
dream many years ago. I say 'somehow' because I had not purposely picked up the shovel and started digging. I
had reached for my love of writing, like a sleepy hand struggles to correct the comforter's escape at
night, and realized it had been packed up and stored away.
Thankfully, my writing voice garbled a tiny hope for rescue. With
gentle shakes and writing support, its once-slight pulse raced to new music.
The neglect of my writing matters less than my
current pursuit, alive with direction and dedication. Now, topics and ideas spill into notebooks, stories, documents,
and online articles. My creative rebirth dances in the wild cheers from my loving husband and adorable
son.
If you have forgotten your dream or somehow buried it, find it and
nurture it back to a pink, glowy health. Start now. Right now. Unless you want to finish reading my site first; you can
start immediately after that.
The key to a happy and healthy life?
Live your Passion!
Best,
Jennifer
